Rearfoot and Forefoot GEL Cushioning Systems - Silicone based material placed in critical areas of the sole which dampens shock when the foot hits the ground allowing for a smooth movement through the step and reducing the risk of injury.

SpEVA Midsole Material - Spongy layer between the sole and upper designed to absorb shock and cushion the foot

AHAR+ - Tough material placed in critical areas of the shoe for exceptional durability. AHAR+ is a lighter weight material.

Removable Sockliner - Insole placed inside the shoe for added comfort which can be removed to accommodate a medical orthotic

Flex Grooves - located on the sole for increased flexibilty.

10mm Heel gradient - to help relieve pressure from the achilles.

OUR OPINION: Now featuring GEL in the forefoot and rearfoot this is actually a great improvement on the previous Academy shoe. Not only with increased technology but it is also a better looking shoe. It is still a full leather trainer but less restrictive. The hard wearing sole ensures the Academy 3 will last a long time.
