Meet the Team

Debbie Hallas - Managing Director

Debbie Hallas - Managing Director

Our managing director, Debbie, founded Netball UK in 2000 after struggling herself to buy netball kit and equipment.

Debbie started playing netball at junior school and joined Oldham Netball Club when it formed its first junior team in 1989. She progressed through to the National Premier League senior side and was part of the team that rose through five divisions in six seasons. In 2011, Debbie stepped away from playing (well, apart from the occasional appearance…) to take over coaching the team. She guided them to seven Premier League titles in eight seasons.

Her playing honours include representing Greater Manchester and the north west at youth level and captaining Lancashire and the north west at senior level.

In 2008, she was instrumental in the takeover of Manchester Thunder (or Northern Thunder as it was then) and has subsequently overseen the franchise as managing director from being bottom of the table to winning the Superleague three times.

Also a qualified coach and umpire, Debbie lives and breathes netball and has built experience in the sport at every level. That's why Netball UK is passionate about supporting everyone in netball - from local league to Superleague, player to coach, umpire to technical official. We want everyone to have the best kit, clothing and equipment, accompanied by the best advice, so they can enjoy the sport they love.

For Debbie, it's not just an add on. Netball is her world!

Kerry Almond - Sales & Purchasing Manager

Kerry Almond - Sales & Purchasing Manager

Kerry is one of the country's leading netballers. She's a three-time Vitality Netball Superleague winner with Manchester Thunder, has been in the play-offs for the last ten successive seasons and has two England caps to her name.

She's also our longest serving member of staff here at Netball UK, joining in 2007. Starting out as an office administrator she has progressed to be our Sales and Purchasing Manager, responsible for overseeing the company sales and liaising with our key accounts - ASICS, Mizuno and Gilbert.

Her experience on court means she's an unrivalled source of advice and information. As well as playing in the Superleague, she knows the importance of every club and every player at every level - she's always found time to play for Oldham in the National Premier League, division one, and is hugely passionate about the sport.

In her spare time, she likes to relax, enjoys listening to music and reading, and likes going to concerts - her favourite artists are Bon Jovi, Queen, Green Day, Billy Joel and Pink.

Natalie Dawson - Customer Services Manager

Natalie Dawson - Customer Services Manager

When you checkout at Netball UK and your order comes through to us, Natalie is key to making sure your products reach you as soon as possible.

She joined the team in 2011 and has many responsibilities - from processing all your orders to liaising with the warehouse, keeping you up to date with delivery schedules and giving expert advice in our shop in Oldham.

You'll regularly see her on the Netball UK stand at events - from Superleague matches to tournaments - so come and pick her brains on the best products for you. She's been playing netball since the age of seven, was part of Dominoes Netball Club in the North West and represented Oldham Sixth Form College at the British Colleges Championships where she was a runner up in her first year and champion the second. Since then she's played for Delph in her local league. She may be small (for a shooter), but she's an expert at putting those shots away (as you'll know if you've seen her in a bar…).

Nat's another of the team's lovers of music - this year alone she's seen the Spice Girls, Take That and Pink.

Rachel Moss - Head of Teamwear

Rachel Moss - Head of Teamwear

Rachel's got a really important role at Netball UK ensuring that the clubs, schools and teams who want products bespoke to them have a wide range of high quality products to choose from.

She joined as Head of Teamwear in August 2018, but has been part of the Netball UK family for years - she actually featured in our first ever kit brochure.

Every day she deals with suppliers to source bespoke kit products, liaises with customers to take them through the whole process and ensure they get what they need and tracks every order to ensure everything is delivered when it's needed, where it's needed.

She grew up playing netball for Oldham Netball Club and won two junior championships at U14 and U16. She now plays for local team Chadwicks where you'll find her anywhere in centre court.

With two young girls, who are also netball superfans and cheer on Manchester Thunder, she's hoping they'll love the sport as much as she does. Her eldest, five-year old Florence, has just started at Oldham Netball Club Future Stars.

Daniel Hallas - Warehouse Manager

Daniel Hallas - Warehouse Manager

Dan is our warehouse manager and ensure the delivery and distribition at Netball UK runs smoothly. Customer service is highly important and our warehouse is a key part of that in despatching all good to our customers.

Dan initially worked part-time through school and college holidays. On completion of his A-levels in June 2019 he joined the company full time and has worked his way up to managing the warehouse.

Having been dragged around netball courts for most of his life with his mum and owner Debbie Hallas, Dan is talking his time to learn all elements of how the company runs and is putting his own stamp on his department.

He also doubles as our male model and as much as he protests once he's in front of the camera we think he secretly enjoys it!

Outside of Netball UK Dan enjoys Cross Fit and playing football, he's also a keen Manchester United fan.
